My new art name "Spirit Stamper" has come about recently all because of this awesome owl shaker card that I made. It actually started out like this. It was not my own idea but it was sure fun to recreate from this link by "elenisartstuff", on You Tube.
If you actually watch the video, you will know that this was a challenge from last year, (which I have never participated in one of these before, but I really should sometime.) So you also know that the following 3 items were used in this project
The tissue in mine is the branch...the aqua color is the Tim Holtz Distress Ink called Evergreen Bough. Tissue Tape or Masking tape is actually the branch, and the something transparent is the window of where the moon is in the background.
I ended up deciding to use this as my card for the ATC Club, September Free Theme swap and trade at Paper Art Creations in Alberta.
To cut back time in how long it took me to make them, I decided to use a Tim Holtz Mover's and Shaper's branch die. It really did save a lot of time and I was quite happy with how they turned out.
Anyway, this was quite fun to make. And, I made an additional 14 or so of them to give as raks and to trade with others in a few other groups I am in.
All along, since the beginning, Abby has been very supportive encouraging me to paint and to try to come up with something I might be able to sell. She suggested that I recreate this very ATC on a canvas. I pulled out a canvas, and to my surprise, I was happy that I successful. This is what I got.

Since I am going to be calling myself "Spirit Stamper" my completed canvases will be requiring a name. And so I've put a ton of thought into what I should call this painting. I thought of Night Owl at first...but then it just hit me...so I looked up native languages, and I immediately found a name for my completed owl painting. Which will be called "NIBAA" which means "At Night" in Ojibway
